Window management utility for PC
WindowTop is a free program that was developed by Gil Eliyahu for PC devices. It is a utility tool that lets users manage individual application windows on their desktop and set them to stay on top of other running apps, as well as being able to make changes to their appearance.
Similar to other tools like Windows TopMost Control, WindowTop lets you take any program of your choosing and set it to stay on top of all others on your desktop. It's available in installable or portable options and offers a Pro version if you want additional features.
How do I use WindowTop?
After installation, WindowTop's program icon will appear in your system tray. Right-click on it and you get options to Untop, Unshrink, or Minimize all windows. It also has a settings submenu where you can set it to start with windows, disable the toolbar menu, blacklist or whitelist windows, configure hotkeys, or choose "all settings" to see its entire list of options.
WindowTop's settings menu is divided into four main sections. The Settings tab lets you configure all its features: Set Top, Shrink, Dark Mode, and Opacity. Toolbar can place a small toolbar on top of windows for quick access to program functions. Assign keyboard shortcuts to actions in the Hotkeys section. Lastly, Exclusions is where you can add and remove apps that can use WindowTop.
As mentioned earlier, WindowTop offers a Pro version and with it, you gain access to its Shrink, Dark Mode, and Opacity features. Some will find the Free version too limited in this regard. The app does offer a 30-day free trial, which lets you test out all of its features first before deciding if upgrading will be worth it to you.
